Moriwaki Carbon Fiber Belly pan

The standard bellypan provides very little protection for the engine and starter motor. The Moriwaki belly pan looks cool in my opinion but the price is a bit steep. I managed to get a Moriwaki style bellypan in carbon fiber from Rhencullen Race Products for 175 pounds. I had to cut out an opening for the Yoshi headers as they are much larger than the standard pipes and I made a new set of ally brackets with quick release fasteners. The engine and starter are now well protected and the look of the bike is much improved over the standard cowl.

Carbon Fiber Engine Protectors

The clutch cover on the Firestorm is easily damaged as it isn't protected from grounding out in the event of an accident. The protector is 5mm thick and made from Carbon Kevlar weave with a carbon fiber top layer for looks. The picture to the right shows the clutch cover which is stuck on with silicon sealant and has survived two crashes with very little damage I covered the scuffs by rubbing with wet and dry paper and painting with clear lacquer.

Fireblade Forks, Spondon Clipons & T595 Carbon fiber front mudguard

After all of the work getting my standard fork to work so well the Fireblade forks are a bit of a luxury. I fitted them for two main reasons the first being the compression damping adjustment which is really usefull on track days and the second is the reduced offset in the yolks which helps with the steering geometry increasing trail but still allowing a steep stearing angle for quicker steering. The steps involved for a 96/97 Blade fork upgrade are detailed under fork upgrade.

AP racing disks 6 piston calipers and adjustable master cylinder

Top quality brakes used by race teams around the world. They provide massive amounts of stopping power and feed back. The adjustable master cylinder provides span and ratio adjustment to tailor the lever feel and force applied at the pads.

WP fully adjustable rear shock

The standard rear shock leaves a lot to be desired the best settings for most riders is one click off minimum preload and slightly harder on the rebound damping. The WP shock is a massive improvement each one is built to order and the spring and damping is altered for the riders weight. Out of the box the damping is set to suit most riders. The only adjustment I have made is to increade the compression damping for track days at circuits like Donnington which are really smooth.

Harris Fully Adjustable Rearsets

Not Qiute as elegant at the Moriwaki rearsets but very tough and extremely well made. A huge number of footpeg positions means these can be tailored to suit anyone.
